COME TO YOUR SENSES
A POETRY WORKSHOP FOR NON-POETS

bloom.PNG

In this two hour workshop we will play, take a few risks

and potentially bloom

into new terrain both within and outside ourselves.

Using sample poems and writing prompts as our guides we will:

🌸 Give our critical, thinking minds a break and write from our senses

🌸 Light-heartedly explore and write from the simplicity of the present moment

🌸 Experiment with accessible tools for creative expression: spontaneity, sound, free association and more

🌸 Move energy out of stuck places

🌸 Quickly establish rapport and community with fellow travelers

Sunday, April 13

CURIOUS TO KNOW MORE?

We’re now well into the new year. While I don’t believe in new year / new you (too much pressure!), I do believe in new year / what new wants to emerge from you?

So I’ll ask, what wants to come alive for you this year?

🌸 Maybe you have a desire to be more creative, however that looks.

🌸 Maybe you have a longing to shake things up and be more spontaneous, present and playful.

🌸 Maybe there’s a sense of wanting to explore something new and perhaps deeper within yourself, but you’re not sure how.

To paraphrase the award-winning poet, Mary Oliver, poetry is the doorway through which another voice may speak.

To welcome this new year and give voice to the new and unexplored, I’d love to have you join me for a fun two hours of poetry and community.

This workshop is more about process than outcome.

It’s about discovering a voice within yourself that may have been quiet for a very long time, or that you may have never heard from at all.

It’s about exploring the terrain of your own interior, your own creative mind, in a playful and lighthearted way.

In the end, you will leave with a few finished poems to do with as you please.

But more importantly, you will leave a little bit more open to your own voice, your own capacity for expression. And you may be pleasantly surprised at what you’ve found.

Would a friend or colleague, maybe your partner or mom, find this engaging and fun?

Please share! The playful, experimental nature of this workshop lends itself to an easy feeling of community and support. It’s so fun to watch. So bring a friend or offer it as a gift. Spread the love of poetry this year.
